Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners

Did you know that most American adults need an orthodontic treatment to correct misaligned teeth? Metal braces have been an option for a long time, but they can be uncomfortable. Fortunately, clear aligners can give you incredible results without the discomfort.

What are Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners are an alternative to traditional metal braces. These aligners are made of clear plastic specifically designed for your teeth, making them smooth, comfortable, and easy to remove and put on.

Clear aligners can address the following types of bad bites:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite

What to Expect During Treatment

A typical treatment lasts about six months, depending on the severity of your case. To ensure a quick and smooth treatment, you should wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day. The only time you can remove them is when you’re eating, drinking, or cleaning your mouth.

To care for your aligners, thoroughly rinse and clean your mouth before putting your aligners in. This will prevent food from getting trapped in your teeth. You should also keep your trays stored safely in their container when you’re not wearing them. Your teeth should slowly adjust to the correct position as you switch out your aligners for a new set approximately every two weeks.

After Your Treatment

Once your treatment is complete, you must wear your custom retainer to prevent your teeth from shifting again. These devices are made of strong, durable materials. Your dentist will determine how long you should wear your retainer based on your unique case.
